Former NBA player Greg Oden has revisited his claim of being the biggest bust in NBA history. In a recent interview on The OGs podcast, Oden shared his updated perspective.
In 2016, Oden labeled himself the biggest bust due to frequent injuries and limited playing time.
Oden was the first overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft. His career with the Portland Trail Blazers was plagued by injury issues, which significantly affected his playing time and performance.
Oden later joined the Miami Heat, contributing in a limited role. Reflecting on his career, he said, “Technically if I’m looking at it and KD is just so great, that when you look at it I’m technically one of the biggest busts of all time.”
During his interview, Udonis Haslem disagreed with Oden’s self-assessment. Haslem suggested that Oden’s career was heavily affected by injuries, rather than a lack of talent. He cited other players, such as No. 1 pick Andre Bennett, as examples of true busts.
