Indiana Fever/X

Caitlin Clark has set another record. The Indiana Fever star broke the WNBA rookie record for 3-pointers by hitting her 86th of the season, surpassing Rhyne Howard’s previous record of 85 set in 2022.

Clark’s record-breaking shot came in the first quarter of Wednesday’s game against the Connecticut Sun, where she scored a stepback 3-pointer with 7:17 remaining. She ended the game with 19 points, five rebounds, and five assists, though she also had seven turnovers.

“I think 3 point record is cool. I think it just speaks to the way we play offense and the way we’ve been playing offense especially as of late,” Clark said of her latest accomplishment. “Just fast, uptempo. I feel like I’m definitely capable of shooting a little bit better.

“I feel like I’ve gotten some tough rolls over the course of this year, but even that last [shot] tonight I felt like that one was in. That one really upset me a little bit, but I still feel like I’m shooting it well. I feel like I’m taking good shots and that’s the most important thing for this team.”
