Sophie Cunningham publicly criticized WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert, arguing that the league has failed to do enough to protect her Fever teammate, Caitlin Clark, from physical play.

Speaking on her podcast with co-host West Wilson, the player expressed frustration over what she described as a lack of action from both league officials and game referees.

“This type of sh*t happens every single game to her, and the league and the refs do absolutely nothing about it,” Cunningham said while discussing the treatment Clark receives on the court.

During the conversation, Cunningham and Wilson also speculated about Engelbert’s relationship with Clark, suggesting the commissioner could be jealous of the league’s biggest star.
