Washington Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma recently criticized the media for quickly transforming Kamala Harris from one of the least popular politicians into a “savior” following her selection as the Democratic nominee for the 2024 Presidential Election.

Kuzma voiced his discontent on social media, questioning the sudden shift in public perception. “You wouldn’t have an issue & cared if my thoughts or questions ‘tilted’ to your beliefs upon things.. You don’t go from multiple outlets/‘experts’ saying you’re one of the worst modern day VP’s too then overnight you’re this savior that’s going save the day out of nowhere,” Kuzma tweeted.

Kuzma accused his critics of being too emotionally invested and argued that the media’s change in narrative lacks substance.

“Yep no question some policies/ talking points make sense lol. Vice versa democratically…but if you don’t see that you’re just hating or in the sunken place wrapped up on emotions & narratives,” Kuzma added.

Kuzma’s remarks highlight the stark contrast between Harris’s previous low approval ratings and her current elevated status. According to a November 2021 survey by USA Today, Harris had one of the lowest approval ratings for a vice president in recent history, at just 28%.

Kuzma’s criticism follows the unorthodox way Harris became the Democratic nominee. She was elevated to the position without a primary vote due to Joe Biden’s sudden withdrawal and lack of significant challengers.

Critics of Harris often cite her ineffective campaigning and failures as reasons for her low approval. Her previous tenure as California Attorney General and U.S. Senator has also been marked by controversies and inconsistencies.
