Milwaukee played without Giannis Antetokounmpo, who remains sidelined with a right calf strain, along with Kevin Porter Jr., Bobby Portis and Gary Harris. The Bucks improved to 4-15 this season without the two-time MVP, relying on spacing and perimeter shooting to control the game.
The home team set the tone early by scoring 77 points in the first half, its highest first-half total of the season. Two nights after managing only 79 points in Boston, Milwaukee generated consistent paint touches that opened clean looks from beyond the arc.
The Bucks finished 23-of-38 from 3-point range, a season high, and shot 60.5% from deep. Ryan Rollins contributed 21 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds, while AJ Green and Gary Trent Jr. combined for 10 made 3-pointers to stretch Chicago’s defense.
Chicago entered the matchup shorthanded after a series of trades earlier in the day that reshaped its rotation. The Bulls acquired Mike Conley Jr. and Jaden Ivey in a three-team deal while also sending Nikola Vucevic to Boston for Anfernee Simons, and they played without leading scorer Josh Giddey because of a strained left hamstring.
Matas Buzelis led the visitors with 22 points and five blocks, and Coby White recorded 21 points and 10 rebounds. Jalen Smith added 16 points on efficient shooting, but the Bulls struggled to contain Milwaukee’s ball movement as the hosts produced 33 assists on 50 made field goals.
Chicago briefly rallied late in the third quarter, trimming a large deficit to 90-84 after increased defensive pressure and transition scoring. The Bucks responded by regaining control through quick decision-making and second-chance opportunities, finishing with a 51-43 rebounding edge.
Kuzma’s offensive versatility proved decisive, as he scored from isolation sets and catch-and-shoot situations while helping initiate offense when Rollins faced traps. Milwaukee’s bench also delivered, with Pete Nance, Jericho Sims and Trent Jr. combining for 39 points to maintain momentum.
The Bulls will continue their road swing with a visit to Toronto on Thursday, looking to integrate new additions into the rotation. Milwaukee hosts New Orleans on Wednesday, seeking to build consistency as it navigates injuries and remains within reach of the Eastern Conference play-in race.
