Angel Reese, the Chicago Sky rookie and WNBA Rookie of the Year contender, expressed her desire to train with NBA legend Tim Duncan in a recent interview.
Reese discussed the possibility during her appearance on Scoop B Radio, hosted by Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson.
“I mean always learning from a legend is great,” Reese said, acknowledging Duncan’s esteemed career with the San Antonio Spurs.
Reese emphasized her enthusiasm for learning from great players. “For me, I love to pick people’s brains and pick a lot of great players’ brains so of course it would be great,” she added.
Despite her admiration for Duncan, Reese remains focused on her current season. “I’m just worried about right now. I mean I can’t dictate who I workout with, I’m just looking forward to getting better at the moment,” she explained.
Reese’s impressive debut season has drawn comparisons to Duncan, especially given her ability to rack up double-doubles at a record pace. Averaging 13.6 points and 12.3 rebounds per game, she has become a key player for the Sky.
Her performance has made her one of the fastest in WNBA history to reach 20 double-doubles.
The idea of Reese training with Duncan, known for his fundamental skills and basketball IQ, is an intriguing prospect.
