Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards is poised to represent Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

According to NBA insider Shams Charania, Edwards is set to secure a spot on the star-studded roster despite stiff competition.

Charania revealed on FanDuelTV’s Run It Back that Edwards is determined to earn a starting role on the Olympic team, showcasing his commitment to international competition.

“[Anthony Edwards] is someone that’s been described to me as a guy that will be on the 2024 USA Basketball Olympic team in Paris…I’m told Anthony Edwards fully wants to go and compete to start on this team,” Charania said.

Edwards’ impressive performance in the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup, where he earned All-FIBA World Cup Team honors, solidified his candidacy for the Olympic squad.

As a key contributor for Team USA in the World Cup, Edwards emerged as the leading scorer, averaging 18.9 points per game as the Americans finished fourth.

This season Edwards is averaging 26.5 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5 assists in 35.2 minutes per game.
