Bayern Munich has announced that BMW Park, their home venue, will feature the world’s first full-LED video sports floor starting this season.
This cutting-edge innovation, provided by ASB GlassFloor, marks BMW Park as the first event location globally to have a permanently installed LED video sports floor.
The partnership between Bayern and ASB GlassFloor is set to last until 2030, enhancing the venue’s appeal with this state-of-the-art flooring.
The new floor, covering approximately 580 square meters, will offer dynamic animations and visual effects never before seen in sports arenas.
The installation of this glass floor has already begun, with initial training sessions taking place as the venue prepares for its debut in September 2024.
BMW Park’s transformation into an innovative event space will accommodate not only basketball and volleyball but also corporate events, entertainment shows, and more.
The LED video sports floor will enable real-time displays of game data, emotional video messages, and interactive visuals during games.
Previously known as the Rudi-Sedlmayer-Halle, the 6,500-seat arena in Munich-Sendling was originally built for the 1972 Summer Olympics.
BMW Park, now named after the car manufacturer BMW, will offer a versatile space enhanced by this groundbreaking technology.
