Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young recently spoke about the possibility of joining Team USA for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics during an appearance on Podcast P with Paul George, Presented by Wave Sports + Entertainment.

Young, who has a home in California, expressed enthusiasm about the idea of competing in the upcoming Olympics.

“I mean I got a house here, of course. Cali Olympics in 2028, of course,” Young said. “I mean of course nothing is given. Everything is earned.”

Young acknowledged that making the Olympic team will require effort and commitment. “We got a couple years that it’s just going to have to be earned and obviously USA has a lot of talent,” he added.

He emphasized that while he is eager to be a part of the team, the final decision is not entirely up to him. “Of course, of course I want to, but we’ll see. I definitely will. It ain’t up to me, but if it was, I would definitely want to.”

Young has previously been a member of the U.S. men’s national U18 team, winning a gold medal at the 2016 FIBA Americas Under-18 Championship. However, he has not played for the national team since that event.
