In a recent interview on Gil’s Arena, Trae Young, the star point guard of the Atlanta Hawks, expressed his strong belief that he deserves a spot on Team USA’s roster for the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics next summer.

While Young understands the importance of veteran players and respecting their experience, he confidently stated, “I definitely want to be on the Olympic roster. It’s up to them if they want me to, but I believe that I should be on.”

This wouldn’t be Young’s first experience representing the United States in international basketball. He was a key member of the country’s Under-18 team that secured a gold medal at the 2016 FIBA Americas Under-18 Championship.

The 24-year-old standout player has had an impressive 2022-23 NBA season, averaging 26.2 points, 3 rebounds, and 10.2 assists in 34.8 minutes per game.
