Kevin Durant may receive a provisional yes from USA Basketball to play in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst.
The insider shared on Monday’s episode of The Hoop Collective that Durant, after winning his fourth Olympic gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics, remains a potential candidate for the 2028 Games.
“I would not rule out KD playing,” Windhorst stated. “I talked with Team USA officials, and they would give him a provisional yes right now.”
Durant, 35, has left the door open for a return to the national team, expressing interest in participating in the next Olympic cycle.
Despite his age, Durant’s past performances and contributions to Team USA have made him a valuable asset.
The decision is contingent on Durant’s physical condition and performance in the years leading up to the 2028 Olympics.
