Team USA head coach Steve Kerr stated there is no thought of replacing Kevin Durant despite his calf injury.
The 2024 Paris Olympic Games start this week, and Durant has yet to play a game for Team USA.
Durant’s injury kept him out of all five of the Americans’ friendly games ahead of the Olympics.
“There’s no thought of replacing Kevin,” Kerr said, via Brian Windhorst of ESPN. “I was hoping he would get a game in here, but it just didn’t work out that way.”
Team USA remains confident in their roster despite Durant’s absence.
The Americans open the Olympics against Serbia in Group C on Sunday (July 28).
Durant, a two-time NBA champion, is crucial for Team USA’s gold medal aspirations.
This past season, Durant averaged 27.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 5 assists per game.
