Rob Dillingham couldn’t have been happier when the Minnesota Timberwolves selected him during last week’s NBA Draft by acquiring the #8 pick (traded a 2031 unprotected first-round pick and a 2030 top-one protected pick swap to the San Antonio Spurs).
(via Minnesota Timberwolves):
Chris Hine: “What was your reaction when you saw the Timberwolves were moving up in the draft? And what have your conversations been like with Coach [Chris] Finch & Tim [Connelly] on your fit here?”
Dillingham: “It was just a crazy experience, for real, to even think, because the Timberwolves was one of the best teams in the NBA. I wouldn’t think I’d go to a contender right off rip, so me seeing that I’m going to the Timberwolves, it was just a blessing, for real, and I was just happy that I got to learn from so many vets that’s on the team and so many players that’s done it. Talking to Coach, he just made me comfortable and he told me that I’m going to have a role as long as I have responsibility and do what I’m supposed to do. So I feel like it’s a two-way street, and as long as I keep it the right way, then it’s gon’ go good.”
