Pistons hire JB Bickerstaff

The Detroit Pistons have appointed JB Bickerstaff, former head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers, as their new head coach.

According to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, Bickerstaff has agreed to a five-year deal with the Pistons, bringing with him a wealth of coaching experience.

Bickerstaff’s coaching journey includes stints with several NBA teams, starting as an assistant coach with the Charlotte Bobcats and later the Minnesota Timberwolves.

His career highlights include serving as interim head coach for the Houston Rockets and the Memphis Grizzlies before securing a permanent head coaching position with the Grizzlies in 2018.

Bickerstaff most recently led the Cleveland Cavaliers to consecutive playoff appearances, including the Eastern Conference semifinals.
