The Los Angeles Lakers are revisiting their search for a head coach after their pursuit of UConn’s Dan Hurley fell through, and JJ Redick is back in the picture.

Redick, initially a top contender for the position, will engage in discussions with the Lakers once more.

According to reports by Jovan Buha and Shams Charania of The Athletic, Redick is scheduled to meet with the Lakers over the weekend to explore the team’s head coaching vacancy.

Alongside New Orleans associate head coach James Borrego, Redick is considered one of the frontrunners for the coveted role.

Currently providing commentary for ESPN during the NBA Finals, Redick’s availability to finalize a deal with the Lakers may coincide with the series’ conclusion.

Should the Boston Celtics sweep the Dallas Mavericks, Redick could potentially be free to negotiate with the Lakers as early as Friday.

Redick has alluded to impending developments regarding the Lakers’ coaching position once the Finals conclude, indicating that significant news may be on the horizon.
