Los Angeles Clippers star and former NBA MVP James Harden has unveiled his greatest of all time (GOAT) basketball player, naming the late Kobe Bryant.
Currently attending the adidas Eurocamp in Europe, where promising young talents are showcasing their skills, Harden reflected on his basketball inspiration.
When asked about his GOAT, Harden didn’t hesitate to pay tribute to the Lakers legend, Kobe Bryant.
Harden’s admiration for Bryant stems from his childhood as a Lakers fan in Los Angeles, watching Bryant’s illustrious career unfold and witnessing his numerous championship victories.
“I mean, there was only one person who made me love, I mean fall in love with the game, and that’s Kobe Bryant. Being from LA and being a Lakers fan watching him grow up and win several championships and his passion and love and what he did for the game of basketball, I think the world, you know, feels the same way, but that’s why I started playing basketball,” Harden shared with Cyro Asseo de Choch of HoopsHype.
For Harden, Bryant’s impact extended beyond the court; he credits Bryant for igniting his love for basketball.
While Harden has developed his unique skill set over the years, it was Bryant’s influence that sparked his passion for the game.
