Sunny Hostin of “The View” suggested that Caitlin Clark’s rise to fame is influenced by her race and appearance.

Clark, known for her outstanding NCAA career at Iowa and being the top pick in the WNBA Draft, has experienced a significant surge in popularity this year.

On Wednesday’s episode of the ABC talk show, Hostin discussed how certain privileges might have contributed to Clark’s increasing recognition.

“I do think that there is a thing called pretty privilege,” Hostin said. “There is a thing called White privilege. There is a thing called tall privilege, and we have to acknowledge that.

“And so part of it is about race because if you think about the Brittney Griners of the world, why did she have to go to play in Russia? Because they wouldn’t pay her,” she said of the WNBA.

David Portnoy, a businessman and social media personality, expressed his thoughts on the matter on the X platform.
