Nikola Jokic showcased his MVP form with a dominant 40-point performance, leading the Denver Nuggets to a commanding 112-97 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 5 of their playoff series.

Jokic’s stellar display, coupled with his 13 assists and flawless ball control, propelled the Nuggets one step closer to clinching a spot in the Western Conference finals.

Aaron Gordon and Jamal Murray provided valuable support, contributing 18 and 16 points respectively, as the Nuggets capitalized on their home-court advantage to grab the pivotal victory.

Despite a strong effort from Karl-Anthony Towns, who led the Timberwolves with 23 points, Minnesota struggled to contain Jokic.

Anthony Edwards, who scored 44 points in Game 4, was held down to 18 points on 5-for-15 shooting. Rudy Gobert also added 18 points and grabbed 18 rebounds.

With the series shifting back to Minnesota for Game 6, the Timberwolves face a must-win situation to keep their postseason hopes alive and force a decisive Game 7.
