The New Orleans Pelicans are eyeing a strategic move to secure a higher position in the upcoming 2024 NBA Draft, with reports indicating their interest in trading for a top pick.

According to Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson, the Pelicans are actively exploring options to maneuver into the top tier of the draft, believing that securing elite talent at the top will complement Zion Williamson and propel them to the next level.

The Atlanta Hawks clinched the coveted No. 1 pick in this year’s NBA Draft Lottery. The top 10 picks also include: 2. Washington Wizards, 3. Houston Rockets, 4. San Antonio Spurs, 5. Detroit Pistons, 6. Charlotte Hornets, 7. Portland Trail Blazers, 8. San Antonio Spurs, 9. Memphis Grizzlies, 10. Utah Jazz.

With the Pelicans currently holding the 21st and 23rd picks, they are exploring avenues to leverage their assets, potentially including Brandon Ingram, to secure a higher selection and bolster their roster.

Following the first-round playoff exit at the hands of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Pelicans executive David Griffin made it clear that the current team has run its course, signalling the coming major changes.
