The CNN weekly prime-time talk show co-hosted by outspoken basketball personality Charles Barkley and CBS morning anchor Gayle King, titled “King Charles,” has concluded its six-month run due to lackluster ratings.
The decision to cancel “King Charles” comes after the show’s launch in November with plans to air through early spring. However, industry insiders suggest that Barkley’s limited availability played a significant role in the show’s demise.
As a co-host of the widely popular “Inside the NBA” on TNT, Barkley could only commit to “King Charles” appearances on Wednesdays, restricting the show’s flexibility and potential for success.
