The San Antonio Spurs (19-58) orchestrated a stunning upset, edging past the New Orleans Pelicans (45-32) with a nail-biting 111-109 victory, fueled by Victor Wembanyama’s 17 points, 12 rebounds, and crucial block in the final seconds.

Wembanyama’s heroics helped the Spurs overcome a 10-point halftime deficit, sending the short-handed Pelicans to their fourth consecutive home loss.

With standout performances from CJ McCollum (31 points) and Jonas Valanciunas (26 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists), the Pelicans fought valiantly, but were unable to defeat the struggling San Antonio.

Despite missing key players like Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram, the Pelicans put up a fierce fight, but ultimately fell short against the determined Spurs.

Devonte Graham’s 20-point contribution and Wembanyama’s second-half resurgence were instrumental in the Spurs’ comeback.

The loss puts the Pelicans in danger of missing a direct playoff qualification as they drop to the play-in zone.
