Former NBA All-Star John Wall recently voiced his concerns about the state of defense in the league, highlighting a sentiment echoed by many basketball enthusiasts.

During a guest appearance on The OGs podcast hosted by former players Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller, Wall expressed his frustration, stating that the lack of defense in NBA games makes them challenging to watch.

According to Wall, the current style of play resembles pickup basketball, with a heavy emphasis on offense and minimal defensive effort.

“The NBA, like you said, the game has changed so much it’s hard to watch,” Wall said. “It’s hard to watch because nobody is playing defense, it’s a lot of shots and it’s like going to play pick up. It’s like we go play pick up in the summer, like you get a bucket, get a bucket, go one on one, go one on one. So that’s just all it really is.”

In response to criticisms like Wall’s, the NBA reportedly continues to explore potential rule changes and adjustments aimed at restoring equilibrium between offense and defense.
