Los Angeles Lakers’ forward, Jarred Vanderbilt, may be dealing with a devastating blow to his season as a significant right foot injury has cast doubt on his return.

Vanderbilt’s injury occurred during a victorious road game against the Boston Celtics. ESPN’s NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski revealed the severity of the situation, stating, “There’s concern that he could be lost for the rest of the season.”

The Lakers are currently seeking opinions from specialists to assess the full extent of Vanderbilt’s injury. While the minimum expected absence is several weeks, there’s a looming possibility that the dynamic forward may miss the remainder of the season.

“They’re consulting with specialists this week and going through that foot injury on Vanderbilt. But at the minimum I’m told that he’s out for several weeks and could be well out for the rest of the season,” Wojnarowski said.

Vanderbilt has been averaging 5.2 points and 4.8 rebounds in just 20 minutes per game across 29 appearances.
