The arrest occurred during a traffic stop in Jackson County, where a trooper detected the smell of marijuana, prompting a search that revealed a firearm, a small amount of marijuana for personal use, and drug paraphernalia.
Notably, Rondo was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to a no-contact order issued against him in court. The charges against Rondo are all misdemeanors.
