NBA insider Jake Fischer has disclosed that the Atlanta Hawks are contemplating a firesale strategy as the looming trade deadline approaches in the league.

Fischer shed light on the Hawks’ potential shift in approach, stating, “Right now it sounds like the Hawks are truly considering the idea of being a real seller. Taking a step back and maybe even getting a couple extra lottery balls this year…,” indicating a possible overhaul of the team’s roster.

Recent reports by Fischer suggest that the Hawks have opened the door for trade discussions, with notable players like Dejounte Murray being on the trading block. The only players deemed untouchable in these discussions are Trae Young and Jalen Johnson.

Currently sitting at the 11th position in the Eastern Conference with a record of 14 wins and 20 losses, the Hawks find themselves just below the play-in zone.

The consideration of a firesale could signify a strategic move by the organization to potentially rebuild and secure a more favorable position in future drafts.
