Orlando Magic star Paolo Banchero thinks that rookie Anthony Black has adjusted very well to the NBA so far (9 points/3 rebounds/1 assist/1 steal/1 block/3-4 FG/1-2 3-PT/2-2 FT in Thursday’s 120-119 NBA Mexico City Game loss vs. the Atlanta Hawks).

Reporter: “Can you speak a little bit about Anthony Black being his first year as a rookie? He had a good game. Just speak of how he’s joining the group? How he’s feeling? How he’s getting better? Yourself in your second year, what you can teach him from being a rookie?”

Banchero: “I think he’s getting better every game, every day. He’s a quick learner, picks up on things very fast. He just makes winning plays, whether it’s defense or offense, just plays that the team needs. And I would just say the advice: Don’t be too hard on himself, which he hasn’t I don’t think. Rookie year, you’re going to make mistakes, there’s going to be ups and downs, and I think he’s done a great job so far. But it’s a long season, so he’s going to have to keep it up and keep going.”
