Getting used to the NBA involves handling not-so-great results on the court.

So, when the San Antonio Spurs’ rising talent, Victor Wembanyama, talks about the team losing by 40 points to the Los Angeles Clippers, he sees it as a valuable lesson in his development.

“Every game is incredible as a rookie, but we got to focus on certain things,” said Wembanyama. “There is a lot of talent against us but it should not be an excuse.”

The young French sensation scored 11 points, making 4 out of 10 shots from the field and hitting 3 out of 6 free throws at Crypto.com Arena.

With challenges affecting the entire team, the home team found themselves in a strong position to secure the victory.

“We are young. We have a long way to go. But we got to keep pounding the rock,” said Wembanyama. “I would not see any reason to be frustrated three games into the season but it is a learning experience for a lot of us.

“The good thing is once we got back into the locker room after the game, we started looking back on ourselves, nobody put his head down. We are learning. Just consistency. Pounding the rock.”
