Russell Westbrook’s basketball journey took a significant turn in the previous season when he joined the Los Angeles Clippers.

He expresses appreciation to the Utah Jazz for their part in facilitating this change.

Westbrook was briefly part of the Utah team for 12 days in February following a trade that marked the conclusion of his challenging time with the Lakers.

Although he ultimately opted for a buyout to seize the chance with the Clippers, he mentions his readiness to continue contributing to the Jazz if that had been the path he took.

“I would have come in and did whatever they asked me to do,” Westbrook said. “I told them I could be a mentor. Whatever I needed to do to help, I would have done it. Like always I do whatever is best for the team.

“If that’s to come and sit my ass there in street clothes and make sure I help the young guys, I’ll do that.”
