Lakers superstar LeBron James is on the verge of achieving another milestone in his illustrious career, nearing the remarkable scoring record of Brazilian basketball icon Oscar Schmidt.

Last season, James secured his position at the top of the NBA’s all-time scoring list, amassing 38,652 career regular-season points, surpassing the record previously held by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387).

With 48,080 points recorded across his career, LeBron is also steadily closing in on Schmidt’s international scoring record of 49,737 points, writes Dave McMenamin of ESPN.
