LeBron James is now the NBA’s all-time leading scorer.

Using a signature fadeaway jumper in the dying seconds of the third frame against the OKC Thunder, the future Hall of Famer moved past Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on the league’s scoring leaderboard, surpassing the 38,387 career points of the legendary center.

Following the historic play, James was mobbed by media members and greeted by his family, with a mini-presentation held to honor him. A video tribute was shown in the jumbotron of the Crypto.com Arena, with fans and notable people associated with the Los Angeles Lakers superstar cheering non-stop on the sidelines

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver led the presentation alongside Abdul-Jabbar, who handed James the game ball as the memorabilia of his newest ultimate feat. James went on to thank all of the people that contributed to his success of becoming the league’s all-time scoring king.

Abdul-Jabbar has worn the scoring crown for nearly 40 years, and he found a well-deserved successor on his throne.
