The Milwaukee Bucks sent shockwaves through the NBA when they acquired Damian Lillard from the Portland Trail Blazers, forming a superstar duo alongside two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The pairing of Lillard and Antetokounmpo raises questions about how these two ball-dominant players will co-exist on the court. However, Lillard sees their compatibility as a significant advantage, creating a nightmare for opposing defenses.

Lillard emphasized the challenge that defenses will face when dealing with both him and Giannis.

“They’re not gonna allow [Giannis] to come downhill and just dunk every time… Which one are you gonna do? Are you gonna clog up the paint or are you gonna allow me to make 9 threes?” Lillard said.

The key to their successful partnership, according to Lillard, lies in allowing each player to continue being themselves.

“I don’t want [Giannis] to not be himself… Don’t worry about me… I said that to him, and he said the same thing to me. ‘Don’t worry about me, just do what you do. Be Dame.'”
