Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Milwaukee Bucks’ star, shared his thoughts on his new teammate, Damian Lillard, during the Media Day press conference.
“I feel like we’re just the same people, just different sizes,” the Greek Freak said. “He plays with a chip on his shoulder. He plays to win. He’s cut from the same cloth.”
Giannis went on to express his appreciation for Lillard’s effortless style of play, highlighting his presence during the NBA All-Star Games.
“Whenever I saw him, I admired his game. I loved how he plays his game so effortlessly. Anytime I see him in the All-Star Game, that’s when I see him the most,” he said.
While the two haven’t had the chance to work out together or spend time off the court, Giannis conveyed his excitement about their partnership and the upcoming season with the Bucks.
“We haven’t worked out together or hung out or gone to dinners and stuff. But I always see him in the All-Star Game with his family,” Antetokounmpo continued.
“He’s one of the best in the league, one of the best point guards, probably the top one or two shooters in the league. Incredible. If you had the chance to play with him, you’d always love to play with him.
“But I never imagined that he’d be here in Milwaukee and playing with the team this year. I’m excited for him, I’m happy for him. Hopefully, we can have a great season, both stay healthy, and do what we do.”
