In a recent conversation with SPORT24’s Vasiliki Karamouza, Ignas Brazdeikis, who recently joined Olympiacos Piraeus, discussed his feelings about becoming a part of the prestigious Greek team and talked about his eagerly anticipated first appearance.

The Lithuanian player conveyed his enthusiasm and the factors that influenced his decision to join the EuroLeague runners-up.

“My agents were in contact with Olympiacos for a couple of weeks,” Brazdeikis said. “I talked with a few of them [Olympiacos members] personally to find out what they expected from me.

“The discussions were great, it felt very warm, and it felt like a direction I needed to take in my career. I am extremely happy and blessed to be here.”

Nevertheless, he also admitted that arriving at this decision was a challenging task, primarily because of his strong emotional connection to his hometown, Kaunas.

“I definitely wouldn’t say it was easy [‘yes’] because leaving my hometown of Kaunas was emotional, but I hope they understand about this move. Olympiacos is just one of those teams I couldn’t turn down.”
