Jose Alvarado’s availability for the upcoming training camp hangs in the balance. The setback occurred during a recent workout when the 25-year-old Puerto Rican point guard suffered an ankle sprain.

Shams Charania broke the news on Twitter, stating, “New Orleans Pelicans guard Jose Alvarado suffered an ankle sprain during a workout this weekend, and his availability for training camp is in question.”

Alvarado made a significant impact during his second year in the NBA last season, averaging 9 points, 2.3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1.1 steals in 21.5 minutes per game for the Pelicans.
