Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum recently had the opportunity to closely observe Cooper Flagg, the highly-touted prospect projected to be the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.

The 16-year-old small forward left a lasting impression on the Boston All-Star during their time together at a camp.

Tatum spoke highly of Flagg’s abilities. “I like him a lot,” Tatum shared with Jeff Goodman. “Obviously, he’s athletic, he can dribble, shoot.

“The thing that impressed me was how hard he competed on both ends. He’s got an edge about him, not arrogant. He knows he’s good, but he realizes he’s got a long way to go.

“He’s going at guys, going at the pros. He was trying to block every shot, getting every rebound. He wasn’t playing cool. He was playing hard, competing. He was asking questions a lot, listening.”

Flagg is currently the highest-rated recruit in the United States and gained recognition as the 2022 USA Basketball Male Athlete of the Year.
