Brazilian point guard Raul Neto will no longer participate in the FIBA Basketball 2023 World Cup due to a knee injury he sustained while playing against Iran.

The Brazilian Basketball Confederation stated in a press release that Neto’s right knee’s patellar tendon ruptured. This incident took place in the early moments of the third quarter of a match that Brazil emerged victorious in, with a score of 100-59.

Neto endured this injury while leaping and a magnetic resonance examination, conducted after the game, confirmed the extent of the damage.
