FC Barcelona has officially signed Raul Neto to a contract running through the end of the 2024-25 season. The move addresses the team’s backcourt needs following the season-ending ACL injury to Nico Laprovittola.

Neto, a 32-year-old Brazilian guard, brings extensive experience from his eight-year NBA career and recent stints in international basketball.

He is set to bolster Barcelona’s roster as they aim to compete at the highest level in the EuroLeague.

The signing marks Neto’s return to Spain, where he previously played for Gipuzkoa and Murcia between 2011 and 2015.

Neto’s journey since then has included 464 NBA games across four franchises: the Utah Jazz, Philadelphia 76ers, Washington Wizards, and Cleveland Cavaliers. In the NBA, he averaged 5.7 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in limited minutes.

Earlier this year, Neto joined Fenerbahce but never played in the EuroLeague due to an injury sustained at the FIBA World Cup. The two sides later parted ways, and Neto returned to Brazil, where he played for Pinheiros, averaging 16.8 points, 5.0 assists, and 1.6 steals in five games.

The Brazilian guard could make his EuroLeague debut in Thursday’s Clásico against Real Madrid.
