FC Barcelona has officially parted ways with Brazilian guard Raul Neto after a mutual agreement to terminate his contract. Neto’s tenure was short-lived, as injuries limited his contributions following his arrival in November.

Neto was signed as a replacement for Nicolas Laprovittola, who suffered a season-ending ACL and meniscus injury earlier this year. However, Neto himself faced misfortune, sustaining two injuries during his brief stint with the team.

The 32-year-old made his EuroLeague debut for Barcelona against Real Madrid on November 28, scoring five points in just over three minutes before an adductor injury sidelined him for four weeks.

Upon returning in late December, Neto played three minutes against Crvena Zvezda Belgrade but suffered a hamstring injury, requiring a 12-week recovery period.

In total, Neto appeared in two EuroLeague games for Barcelona, averaging 2.5 points in 3.5 minutes per game.

Barcelona, currently 11th in the EuroLeague standings with a 9-9 record, continues to navigate a challenging season. The team remains without Laprovittola and will need to explore other options to fill the void left by Neto’s departure.
