ESPN announced Monday that they have reached a contract extension with Hubie Brown, via Richard Deitsch of The Athletic.

Brown, who was reported set to return to the network amid its recent cost-cutting layoffs, will have his 20th year being in ESPN for the next 2023-24 season. This would also mark his 50th year being involved in the NBA.

The 89-year-old started his tenure as an NBA analyst for ESPN back in 2004. Despite the fact that his age has gradually affected his broadcasting skills, Brown remains a beloved and well-respected figure within the basketball community.

A Basketball Hall of Famer as a coach and broadcaster, Brown has been tied in the basketball scene since the mid-1950s. In his ABA and NBA head coaching career, he coached the Kentucky Colonels (1974-1976), Atlanta Hawks (1976-1981), New York Knicks (1982-1987), and the Memphis Grizzlies (2002-2004).

Brown is expected to remain partnered with both play-by-play commentators Dave Pasch and Mark Jones during ESPN’S nationally televised NBA games.
