Hubie Brown will remain stapled at ESPN amid the network’s recent cost-cutting layoffs.

According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, the legendary basketball mind will still be at the sidelines of ESPN’s broadcast teams for the upcoming season.

Brown has been serving as an analyst for ESPN since 2004. Despite being at age 89 already, he remains bright and enthusiastic in his analysis and in-game commentaries.

A Basketball Hall of Famer as a coach, Brown has been involved in the basketball scene since the 1950s. In his NBA head coaching career, he managed the Atlanta Hawks (1976-1981), New York Knicks (1982-1987), and the Memphis Grizzlies (2002-2004).

ESPN has notably severed its ties already with both Jeff Van Gundy and Mark Jackson. Previous reports suggest that the network is preparing a new lead broadcast team of both Doc Rivers and Doris Burke teaming up with renowned play-by-play commentator Mike Breen.
