Besiktas JK Istanbul made official on Friday the signing of veteran big man Maciej Lampe for the coming season.

Lampe (2.10 meters, 30 years old) arrives from FC Barcelona of Spain, where last season he averaged 6.2 points and 3.8 rebounds in 24 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games.

Lampe grew up with the Real Madrid junior teams and has since played for several of Europe’s biggest clubs including Madrid, Barcelona and Caja Laboral Vitoria in Spain, Unics Kazan and Khimki Moscow Region in Russia and Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel.

He has also suited up for Phoenix, New Orleans and Houston in the NBA. With Besiktas he will now return to the Eurocup, a title he lifted in 2011 when he was also named to the All- Eurocup First Team with Unics. Lampe’s loaded trophy case also features Spanish and Russian League titles.
