After 11 illustrious years with the Trail Blazers, Damian Lillard has officially requested a trade, expressing his desire to join the Heat.

While a month has passed since his trade request, the Blazers are yet to finalize a deal with Miami. The Heat have been diligently trying to put together a package that satisfies the Blazers’ expectations.

According to NBA insider Shams Charania, the Blazers’ General Manager, Joe Cronin, is actively working to find a suitable deal for Lillard. The proposed trade package being prepared by Portland includes three to four first-round draft picks, potential draft swaps, second-round picks, and a promising young player. However, the question remains whether this offer will be sufficient to secure Lillard’s move to Miami.

Adding to the complexity of the trade talks, Lillard’s agent has informed other teams that the star guard will not be willing to suit up for them if he is traded anywhere other than the Heat. This has put additional pressure on Portland to make a deal with Miami and ensure Lillard’s desired destination.
