In a recent interview with Miami Herald, 34-year-old Michael Beasley, who most recently played for the Shanghai Sharks in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA), shared his candid thoughts about his time with the Miami Heat.

Beasley said, “I love the Heat organization, I love a lot of people in the organization. But I had to grow into those feelings. When I was a player, I didn’t like them at all. I didn’t like what was going on, I didn’t like that I didn’t get an opportunity.”

He also mentioned, “I don’t like the fact that I never played more than 20 minutes, which means I always watched more than half the game [from the bench]. But now, I’m older and I’m past a lot of those feelings. I had to grow into these feelings, but I love what they got going on right now. I wish they could have won one this past year. But yeah, I’m a Heat fan.”

Drafted 2nd overall by the Heat in the 2008 NBA draft, Beasley showcased promise during his rookie year, averaging 13.9 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. He later had two more stints with the team in the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons, solidifying his connection with Miami. While Beasley has moved on to new ventures, he remains a passionate Heat fan.
