Lakers’ newcomer Gabe Vincent is a candidate for the starting point guard position which is projected to be taken by D’Angelo Russell.

According Jovan Buha of The Athletic, if Vincent outperforms Russell during the training camp, he could become the starting point guard for the Purple and Gold.

Last season Vincent averaged 9.4 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 25.9 minutes per game for the Heat. He started in 34 of 68 games.

Meanwhile, Russell averaged 17.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 6.1 assists in 30.9 minutes per game as a starter for the Lakers.
