It has just been reported that Damian Lillard has requested a trade from the Trail Blazers which will mark an end of his 11-year spell in Portland.
Multiple teams are seriously interested in adding the star point guard, most frequently mentioned are the Heat and the Nets. Miami was Lillard’s preferred destination that he revealed in an interview.
However, according to Ramona Shelbourne, there is a lot of interest from Lillard’s side in the Spurs.
“Dame has a lot of respect for that organization. There’s a fascination with Wembanyama. There’s a fascination with the idea of Gregg Popovich… There’s a lot of interest from Dame’s side in the San Antonio Spurs,” Shelbourne said, via ClutchPoints.
