Lakers superstar LeBron James will turn 39 years old next season. It will be his 21st season in the NBA. His new teammate Jalen Hood-Schifino was just seven days old when James was drafted in 2003.
This fact was highlighted by an ESPN graphic during the draft night. Hood-Schifino reacted by saying “Dang, LeBron is old,” per Danial Starkand.
The rookie felt the need to apologize to LeBron for the comment. “I would never disrespect LeBron. He’s one of the best players to ever play this game and I’m blessed to be able to play along side him! If anything I’m giving him praise for what he’s doing at his age,” Hood-Schifino wrote on an Instagram story.
