According to a report by Kyle Neubeck of Philly Voice, the 76ers are not inclined to pursue star guard Bradley Beal if he becomes available on the trade market. Sources speaking anonymously have revealed that the Sixers do not view Beal as a long-term building block and have concerns regarding the financial implications of committing to a player with a hefty contract.

The 76ers’ reservations stem from the team’s desire to operate within the confines of the salary cap and avoid punitive penalties under the current Collective Bargaining Agreement. Even if Beal were an ideal option, the team is hesitant to make a move given the uncertainties and limitations it would impose.

Beal, who is currently under a five-year, $251 million contract with the Washington Wizards, holds a no-trade clause, granting him significant control over his future. The 29-year-old guard averaged 23.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 5.4 assists in 33.5 minutes per game this past season.

As the offseason progresses, the 76ers will continue to explore other options and assess their long-term plans, keeping financial considerations and team dynamics in mind. Beal’s availability may create ripples in the trade market, but it seems that the 76ers will not be among the suitors vying for his services.
