NBA legend Jerry West had a first-hand experience of working with Steph Curry during his time as an executive board member of the Warriors through 2011-2017.

During his appearance on Podcast P with Paul George, the Lakers great talked about Curry, saying that there will come a time when someone who shoots the ball as well as the Golden State’s superstar will enter the league.

“Steph is, he’s just a fantastic person. Oh my God, what a great guy,” West said. “And again, he’s different than everyone thinks. He’s a better all-around player than he gets credit for. He’s really good.

“When you watch him now, at one time I didn’t think he was a good defender. I think he’s a terrific defender. I mean, I would damn sure like to play with him. He’ll pass the ball.

“But he’s got that unique skill that has changed that game a lot and the more they emphasize it, the more these young kids you’re talking about, per their parents pushing them in that direction. And don’t kid yourself, parents do this…

“Steph Curry, he will be here forever. And there will be somebody who comes along that will shoot the ball like him. There will be.”
