Italy has been considering naturalizing the Portland Trail Blazers big man Drew Eubanks in preparation for future international tilts, sources told BasketNews.
Eubanks was born in the United States, but he has Italian roots in his family. This case will still be determined based on his passport eligibility.
Eubanks, 26, played as a serviceable backup big man for the Blazers in the 2022-23 regular season, averaging 6.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.3 blocks per game.
The Italian basketball program is also hoping that reigning Rookie of the Year Paolo Banchero will consider their offer to serve under their flag.
