After helping the Nuggets win Game 1 of the NBA Finals against the Heat, Nikola Jokic sat down for the interview with NBA legends Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley and Grant Hill.
Shaq asked the Serbian superstar how excited he was to win Game 1 and be three wins away from winning his first NBA championship.
“To be honest, I’m not excited,” Jokic said. “I’m really focused because I know what [the Heat are] capable of. They beat some really good teams that had a better record than us.
“We as a team, we are not relaxed. It’s a really important win for us especially because they won the first game in every [previous] round. As a team, we have a huge respect for the Miami Heat. Our focus and our mentality is not relaxed.”
Jokic had yet another triple-double as he opened the NBA Finals with 27 points, 10 rebounds and 14 assists.
